Ruben's obituary

Ruben Richard Guzman died unexpectedly on February 22nd, 2023 at his residence. He was only 42 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Ruben was born on April 24, 1980, to Robert Richard Guzman and Eleanor Marie Guzman.

Ruben is survived and missed by his loving wife Martha of 11 years; and his children, Allison, and Adrian as well as his step-children David Jr., Karen (Andrew) Forester, and Lori. His best friend/brother Anthony Archer. His grandparents Gilbert and Jean Grijalva. Forever cherished and remembered by his two grandchildren, Sophia, and Elijah. Siblings and their families; Vincent & Stacy, Lydia & Matt, and Richard Jr., His memory will be cherished by all his family and friends. 

His memory lives on with his nephews; Josiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Edward, Andrew, and Taron.

Ruben was predeceased in death by his grandfather Pedro, his grandmother Carmen, and His father-in-law Jose E. Rivera Astacio.

Ruben was born and raised in Oceanside, CA. before joining the Army after graduating from Oceanside High School.

Some of his greatest joy came from his children and grandchildren. They created many memories while enjoying trips and time spent as a family.

He loved to spend as much time as he could with his children and grandchildren. Teaching the children, always sharing advice on life skills, and caring for them. He enjoyed spending his time with his family or watching anime as well as playing RPG games such as DND.

Ruben had many professions throughout his life. After moving to Utah he found his place at Texas Instruments where he made many friends.

Ruben had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He was often spending his spare time researching topics of interest or reading books. He enjoyed doing puzzles. You could be sure he is watching all of us from heaven with his family. Ruben loved traveling and never turned down a good trip. He enjoyed his trips to California, the Caribbean, Las Vegas, Yuma, and most often the cruises we would go on. 

Ruben was never scared to take on new opportunities and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well-liked by everyone, mostly due to his infectious energy. Ruben had incredible patience, and always made time to help. 

His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to have known such an amazing and loving person.
