Royal’s 83rd birthday would be Friday, January 17th. He left us for his heavenly home last week, on the first day of the year, and we know he is with the Lord and healed. While we are so grateful his pain and suffering are over, we sure do miss him: his voice, his stories, his humor, his love of nature and farming and work. . . And most of all, his love for his family and his friends and his absolute and unwavering trust in God.

As we think about him this week before his earthly birthday, we would love to have family and friends share their memories of times and experiences with him at various times during his life. This is a memorial for Royal, and I know it will especially be a keepsake for his grandchildren and those who may follow. As for me and the children, we thank you for the times you’ve shared with him and brought so much joy to his life. He truly loved everyone he knew. We appreciate your individual memories of him.
