Dear Jean and Family,

I haven't been in touch with Royal for years, but, somehow he just came to mind. I'm sorry to have missed his time here by a couple of months.

It has been 40 years since I worked with Royal, Art, Jim, and crew at Woodenworks. Being a small part of that company remains one of the brighter spots of my life.

There really are no words. He was a unique, wonderful man.

Appreciatively, with love,

Eric
Dear Jean and family, Jay and I send our condolences and love. We remember Royal’s great sense of humor and his contributions to your family sedar. Thanks for the additional information about Royal; a life well-lived.
Dear Jean,
Sue and I were saddened when Jane told us about Royal’s final illness and passing. He was an extraordinary person. May his memory be a blessing for you and his entire family.

Our sincere condolences to the whole Hutchinson family. The world has lost a very kind, talented and generous man.
I will always remember the gentleness and patience Royal exhibited during our endless Piney Branch PTA meetings and his cheerful willingness to spend hours volunteering as the newsletter editor and helping wherever and whenever he could in the Takoma Park community.
He was indeed a very special person and will be missed by many.
Sending loving thoughts and prayers and memories. Rest In Peace Royal.
Love,
Sue and Mike Poness, Matthew, Lauren and David, Jen and Eric
We wish your family love and peace in this time of sorrow.

With love,
The Holts
Sincere condolences to the Hutchinson family and their extended family and friends. We are remembering with fondness the fun times spent laughing, eating and drinking with this lovely group in the Beard-Davis home. Love from Jean & Jerry

We remember Royal from many years ago and have stayed abreast through Jane and Jay. We have always been amazed and amused by his renaissance living.

May all the works of Royal's hands and the love he gave to his family and others serve as an abiding blessing for all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

The last time we saw Royal, about a month ago, he was cracking us up with tales of substances consumed in his much younger (and then less young) days. He and Jeff lit each other up (metaphorically) recalled heady hippy days. Manifest delight in exploration and zest for being fully awake and alive. Even with all the stories we told each other, I still hadn't realized he loved biking. I also remember the first Seder he invited us to. He made sure we understood what was happening, what it meant, and what really mattered. He was so generous in sharing his love of the traditions he adopted when he converted. Finally, I remember a long conversation I had with him at the beach, Nora's first year on the planet. Maybe an hour long. We so often saw him in groups of people, it was a rare opportunity to talk just one-on-one. The importance of family traditions, having What We Do as a basis for connection, being awake to HOW you spend time together --which may seem like it'll always be there but will be quite different even the next day--and Nationals baseball. What an enormous spirit he had, and shared with the people he loved. I love so many of those same people, and my heart is with you all now.
May Royal always be remembered as the kind, smart, and witty father, husband, and human being he was. I’ll forever hold on to the wonderful memories of spending much of my childhood at the Hutchinson household. Sending all my love to the family.
Through his son Eric, I have known Royal for over 30 years. I spent so much time at their house in Takoma Park and have many fond memories of Royal from the Beatles albums he shared with his family to always having computers that were at least 3 models ahead of what my family had. Royal and Jean raised 4 incredible children and we share our condolensces and positive light to your family. Love, Brian & Ashley
