Facing the loss of our Dad has been very hard. A humble thank you to all who have expressed their sympathies, prayers, and blessings. We are very grateful to each of you. Even with all the complications and challenges of being a parent, Royal so much loved being a Dad and we were tremendously fortunate because of it. He always worked hard and did his best for his family – he loved us and he did all he could for our wellness and happiness. The Ecksteins thrived thanks to Royal. Royal applied himself with spirit to everything that he did and shared that character with us. We would not be who we are without him. We will always be grateful for Royal’s life and will forever miss him immensely.
I was sorry to read of your dad's passing in the Indy Star this morning. I never saw your dad much but he was always nice and seemed to be in a perpetual good mood when I did see him. I really enjoyed seeing the photos of your family. Seeing your home in Irvington across from mine really brought back memories. I hope all of you are doing well. Sorry we didn't keep in better touch.
Dear Adrienne, Annie, Louie and Emily, What a beautiful obituary. Royal's life and accomplishments were impressive. I can still remember to this day his workshop area your basement at your Audubon Rd house. When he yelled "Anne Lorraine you get down here right now", even I trembled at his booming voice but I knew he had a soft heart inside! I could feel your dad was the steady, the rock of the family. May he now rest in the comfort of our Lord. I'm sure my dad was there to greet him as he entered through heavenly gates. Please send me the link to attend the virtual funeral service.
Hugs and blessings to you all, Amy Bonte (Childhood friend and neighbor)
