Roy's obituary
Roy Heflin Teague went home to Jesus on April 06, 2024 at age 90.
Roy was born to Riley Heflin and Lula Bishop Teague on January 14, 1934, in Littlefield, Texas. Roy met his wife, Shirley May Womack Teague, the love of his life, in Math class at Floydada High School in 1951. They married in 1952 and went on to have 4 children, Jennifer Teague, Brad Teague and wife Kay, Sherry Teague Fincher and husband Martin and Drew Teague.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Roy had 11 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren and adored each and every one of them! Roy joins his parents, Riley and Lula along with his sister Wanda Sue Tilson, his brother Keith Lynn Teague and great-grandson Chase Allen Jacobs in Heaven. He is also survived by his brothers James Earl Teague and wife Juanell, Rodney Kent Teague and wife Sara and Keith's wife Beverly Teague, a bounty of nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley's remaining siblings, that he loved as his own, Jack Womack and wife Chaille, Jim Womack and Lajuana Womack Harmon and husband Frank.
In 1968, Roy and Shirley relocated their family to Hurst, Texas from Floydada, where he worked for ARA Manufacturing. Roy went on to work in other jobs following retirement and "retired" a total of 4 times, finally at the age of 80.
Roy was always gifted in so many skills to build and create, with mediums from wood and metal to stained glass. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and yelling at the Cowboys. He also rarely missed watching his Mavericks or Rangers. He was also an incredible "Pit Master" and was known for his amazing barbecue. He crafted many memorable meals and celebrations with the help of Shirley. Along with his family, he had a catering business called Papa Roy's Barbecue, focusing on private parties and celebrations. Roy was a long term member of Richland Hills Church of Christ, now known as The Hills. He especially enjoyed using his cooking skills when he and Shirley worked with the Youth Program and many other occasions. He loved to cook an extra ham or turkey to bless a family in need or going through a hard time!
Throughout his entire life, Roy held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Roy had an amazing voice and always blessed many with his booming beautiful praises to our God! We are confident that he is singing the praises at an incredible volume in Heaven and the words he struggled to find at the end of his life are clear and all frustration has ended! We celebrate that our separation will be brief!
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:25
We will celebrate Roys life with a Memorial Service on April 28th at the Hills Church, North Richland Hills Campus at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to be made to His Chase Foundation. An organization focused on caring for vulnerable children in Rwanda, in honor of Chase Allen Jacobs the link to contribute is
