I share the sadness with Roy's friends and family that he's gone so suddenly, and way too soon. Many of us were having a good time with him just a few days before his passing. I want to let anyone know that New Wave City will have a remembrance for Roy at the next event, Saturday, April 19 at Cat Club (1190 Folsom in San Francisco). I’m putting together a short presentation, which will be at 10pm, in the back room. I’m gathering pictures from New Wave City events, and some others with Roy, and invite anyone to contribute, which you can upload at the Google drive link below. I'm also sharing these pix with Roy's niece.

Roy was a special friend and such a friendly, outgoing, and witty individual that enjoyed connecting with nearly everyone he could. Music brought us together and kept our nearly 10 year friendship going despite not seeing each other for a while at times. We both had a deep love for live music shows and dancing so there were many opportunities to reunite. We shared a deep adoration for New Orleans and got to visit there together and enjoyed meeting up at music festivals and other events. Sending wishes of comfort to all his family and devoted friends. May his spirit be at peace surrounded by music that he loves ❤️
It was my pleasure to know Roy through the shared love of New Wave / post-punk scene. We both enjoyed dancing and seeing concerts. I learned some things about his personal life when we would ride to & from concerts, or have pre-concert drinks. We would message about shows he wanted to see. Roy was always kind, friendly, and funny with me. I’m sorry that he is gone way too soon.

We were so lucky to meet Roy through dear friends and to hang with him during his travels to Sweden and Denmark. We didn't get much time with him and we can certainly say that we wish we had much more. With his love of life and his energy, he was the last person I would have thought would vanish. Dear Roy, thank you for your love of life and open  heart. You will be missed.

Love, Lili and Kevin
