Roy's obituary

Roy E. Moats, 76 passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at his Arizona home on August 25, 2020. He was born on May 21, 1944 in Rowlesburg, West Virginia.

Roy was a decorated veteran who was awarded a Bronze Star Metal and a Purple Heart while serving in the Vietnam War.

Roy met and fell in love with his wife, Althiea, and then settled in Rockville, Maryland after his service.

After moving to Rockville, Roy started working at Rockville Fuel & Feed where he retired from after 35+ years of employment.

Roy moved to Arizona after retiring. Roy attended Mountain View Church with family and friends every sunday he could.

Roy was predeceased by siblings, Jane, Fred, Ed, Helen and Mable. He is survived and loved by his wife Althiea. Children, Sherry and Roy Jr.. Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Long-time family friend Brenda Bane. Siblings, Clint, Brenda and Jack.

There will be a Celebration of life at 2:00pm EST., October 10, 2020 at the Rockville Elks Lodge.
