Roy's obituary
Roy Larrick, a man of ambition and creative spirit, passed away on March 16, 2024. Born on July 17, 1954, Roy dedicated the majority of his life to the successful pursuit of his passions, both in business and music.
Roy's greatest passion from a young age was music, in part by his mother, Geneva's guidance. In his younger years, Roy was always performing for family events or in a local or school band. He played the organ, piano, trumpet, and synthesizer. In his 20's he toured the US in a 1970's cover band first called 'Entourage' then later 'Twilight.' Roy was manager of Gerrio Music in Zanesville Ohio and taught group organ lessons. He became a sales representative for Hammond Organ which brought him to the California where he later worked for Panasonic's Technics before taking over a piano retail store of his own. Roy was founder and President of Larrick Piano and Organ, a testament to his entrepreneurial skill and artistic flair. His love for music wasn't confined within the walls of his business but permeated every aspect of his life, resonating with all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his professional achievements, Roy harbored a fondness for classic and sports cars that captured his adventurous spirit. He drove in the Hollywood Thanksgiving Parade for five years, a treasured experience that highlighted his zest for life. His affiliation with the Corvette Club further exemplified his deep-rooted love for cars.
Besides leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of music and business, Roy's influence extends to his family. He is survived by his loving children, Christopher, Jessica, and Robert, and their families, who will carry forward Roy's memory and his indomitable spirit.
In honor of Roy's remarkable life, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday May 18, 2024, at the United Methodist Church in Rancho Cordova, CA. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the world and cherish the memories he created in the hearts of those who knew him.
