Roy's obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Roy Norman Frantz, a pillar of kindness, dedication, and support to those around him. Born on April 26, 1948, Roy peacefully passed away on August 13, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, wisdom, and strength that spans generations.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Heather Shreiner and Jennifer Honkofsky; his son-in-laws, Shawn Shreiner and Jason Honkofsky; and six beloved grandchildren, Ryan Frantz, Kaitlin Honkofsky, Weston and Patrick Shreiner, Lyndsay Schnitzenbaumer, and Cortney Shreiner. His sisters, Diana Abrams and Deena Frantz also survive him. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Anna (Lecompte) and Norman Frantz, his sister, Norma Campbell, and his brother-in-law, Ted Abrams.

A life-long fan of Elvis, Roy often found comfort and joy in his music, a trait he passed along to his family and friends. His favorite TV Shows, Reacher and NCIS, served as a conversation starter and bonding pastime for his loved ones. Those who knew Roy would recall his impeccable taste in cuisine from his favorite Meatloaf, Burger King Whopper, and Fried Chicken, which he often enjoyed with a glass of Coca-Cola.

Roy's love for the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens was only matched by his passion for games like Risk and Slotomania. He had an affinity for the beauty of Hawaii, the excitement of Las Vegas, and the allure of cruising, which were his preferred vacation spots. Above all, spending quality time with his family was his favorite activity, showcasing his innate caring personality.

Roy was a man who truly embodied the terms kind, caring, loving, funny, and compassionate. His principle-driven life taught many of us that we should always stand up for what we believe in. Professionally, he served as a U.S. Navy CTR2 and an Analyst at NSA, marking his name as a person of significance and honor in his field.

The legacy Roy leaves behind is one of love, support, wisdom, character, and faith. He was always available as a shoulder to cry on or just to vent to, ensuring everyone else's needs were addressed before his own. His memory will continue to be a beacon of guidance and protection, serving as an eternal reminder of his love for us all.

Roy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, yet we take comfort in knowing he will continue to watch over us from above.
