Roy Everett Climer passed away January 9, 2023 in Auburn, WA, 3 weeks shy of his 97th birthday. He was born, and lived his first 15 years, in Texas. The family then moved to Idaho, where Roy lived a couple years until his grandfather passed away. Then he had to run the family farm in Texas. He joined the army at the very end of WWII, and was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA, where he met a pretty, sassy redhead -- and that was the end of his single life. He married Edith Wiebe in August of 1947, and they were still married until her death in 2020. In their 72+ years of marriage, they lived a while in Oregon and Idaho, but mostly in many cities in Washington. They had 5 children, who blessed them with 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. They were lifelong members of the Church of the Nazarene; Hillside Church in Kent was their final church, for over 50 years. After retiring, they spent 25 years snow-birding in Yuma, Arizona, where they met and made a multitude of friends. They both loved God, and enjoyed bowling, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.. A joint memorial will be held for Roy and Edith on February 11 at 2 pm, at Hillside Church in Kent.
