Roy's life was filled with passion and joy, underlined by his fondness for bowling and golf. A regular on the Seniors Professional Bowling Tour, he found camaraderie and joy on the lanes and fairways. An unwavering supporter of the 49ers, he loved watching football and had an unmistakable flair for entertainment, both on and off the field.
Known for his jovial nature, Roy's warm sense of humor made him a natural jokester who could light up any room. His favorite local haunt was the Red Rock Casino, and he loved nothing more than packing his bags for a cruise to anywhere. He found solace in the company of his golden retriever, Sienna, and always made the time to enjoy the simple, beautiful things in life.
Roy taught us to forgive and not to hold onto grudges. His devotion to his late wife Gretchen was a testament to his belief in unconditional love. His legacy is one of laughter and love. He showed us how to find joy even in the hardest of times and how to love with our whole hearts. Because of him, we understand that the best things in life aren't things.
A burial for Roy will be held on May 13, 2025, at 10:40 AM at Veterans Memorial. As we gather to bid farewell, we will remember him not with sadness, but with the laughter and love that he always encouraged in everyone who knew him.
