Rosita Alicia Lindberg Smith, 86, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 24 after a long and courageous battle with hydrocephalus.

Rosita was born on July 18, 1939, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From a young age, she had a strong sense of dedication, curiosity, and love for family that stayed with her throughout her life.

After graduating from high school, Rosita began a long career with AT&T, where she worked for many years as a conference call operator. She was deeply involved in her community, serving on the Plymouth Planning Commission in 1991 and proudly being inducted into the Daughters of the American Revolution. Rosita also volunteered with the University of Kansas Monarch Butterfly Watch program, reflecting her appreciation for nature and her desire to contribute to meaningful causes. One of her greatest passions was genealogy. She spent countless hours researching and preserving her family’s history, ensuring that the stories of those who came before would never be forgotten.

In 1956, Rosita married the love of her life, Raymond Eugene Smith. Together they built a life centered around love, family, and devotion, raising two daughters, Mary Eberhardt and Julie Useman.

After retiring, Rosita enjoyed spending much of her time in her favorite place, Fort Myers, Florida, where she created many happy memories. In later years, she moved to Colorado to be closer to her daughter Julie.

Rosita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond. She is survived by her loving daughters, Mary and Julie; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Karen, Alicia, Melody, and Emily; and her treasured great-grandchildren.

Rosita will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the deep love she had for nature and animal welfare. Her legacy lives on through the generations she cherished and the family history she worked so lovingly to preserve. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved her.
