Rosie Mowha Lee Soohoo, an educator, was born in San Francisco, CA on June 18, 1937 as the youngest daughter of parents who immigrated from China to start the US-branch of the family trading company in the early 1900s. She grew up in the Bay Area alongside her two brothers and three sisters.
