Rosemary L. Evans

Rosemary (McCormack) Evans, of Santa Clarita, California, passed away on December 2, 2024. She was born to the late Margery and Charles McLauchlan on February 26, 1936. Rosemary was born in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in Detroit until her teen years, then her mother, Margery, and stepfather, Bernard McCormack, moved to Los Angeles, California, where she attended St. Monica high school.
She married Don Krufal in 1955. They had five children together. The marriage ended in 1965. As a single parent, she worked hard to raise five children. Rosemary worked at Continental Can Company. While working at there, she met and married the true love of her life, Ted Evans. She changed jobs and became the Business Manager at The Center for Living and Learning until she retired. In retirement, she worked part time by supporting her husband in a business venture for a few years. Rosemary and Ted had many wonderful years traveling and enjoying life together. In 1999, Ted suffered from cancer and passed away. She also loved to help with her grandchildren. Rosemary liked to keep busy and active. Rosemary spent the rest of her life surrounded by many loving family members and friends. She had strong faith, and she was a strong, resilient woman. At 88 years old, in November of 2024, she was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer which ultimately took her on December 2nd, 2024. She passed peacefully with her son, Paul, by her side.
Rosemary, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was the heart of our family, and she is deeply missed. She leaves behind her children, her granddaughter and friend, Kirsten (Hall) Johnson, 10 additional loving grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings Mary Grace Shlaudraff, Maureen (and Mark) Aman, Nora Cusatis, and Tom McCormack as well as and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by, and now joins, her beloved husband Ted Evans, and her daughter Karen Arndt. Rosemary was cremated as she wished. She had requested there be no funeral service. She will be remembered on Monday, January 13, 2025, during the 10 AM Mass at San Fernando Mission Rey de España (11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills, CA 91345).
