I don’t know what to say except Rose was a shining star. She did what she wanted and what she loved, and everyone loved her in return. Rose was my third (?) cousin, and I spent time with her almost every time I went out west the last several years. I will also never forget the time I brought a date—a second date—to see her burlesque show in New York City when I lived there. It was awesome. I always enjoyed hanging out with Rose when I saw her. She was fun, funny, smart, loving, wise, and so much more. Rose and I were in touch a lot more after we lost our father figures on the same day. It is very sad that the terrible things Rose was dealing with the last few years led to her early passing, and I wish all of us could have stepped up to prevent it. Regardless, we now have the opportunity to celebrate Rose’s life the way she would have wanted—fully and completely, with lots of laughs and tears and good and fun energy. Her death is redeemed by the fact the she lived her life to the fullest while she was here, and made such a bright and big impact. I am glad to messages here from her friends and people from her community—that’s what I was hoping for.
Rest in peace and power, Rose. You rock, and I will miss you.

I cannot emphasize this enough. I loved you more than life itself, Rose. When I say I have never felt a stronger connection to anyone in my life, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. I will miss you more than any human on this planet. I hope I get to see you again one day.

Sweet baby angel. Love you more than you’d have ever known, sorry you were in so much pain.
