Thank you all so much for everyone's support during this very difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, we'd appreciate if you could donate to help us construct a playground, in Rose's name, in the rural Bangladesh community that her family comes from. Currently, there is no playground there; and sadly, the "natural playground" that Rose was able to enjoy as a child visiting Bangladesh has largely eroded due to development. Rose absolutely adored children--and they loved her (everyone did)! And so, every moment that a child laughs and plays as a result of her gift would keep her loving, playful and generous spirit alive.
This project would merely build on Rose's already accomplished legacy of service.
Rose’s legacy is defined by a profound and persistent commitment to humanitarian efforts, demonstrating a remarkable impact across two core areas: critical infrastructure development in Bangladesh and crucial health support in her local community. Her accomplishments reflect a holistic approach to aiding the poor and needy, addressing foundational needs in shelter, sanitation, education, and health.
In Bangladesh, Rose’s dedication resulted in life-changing infrastructure projects. Most notably, she was involved in the funding and implementation of ten water wells. This initiative directly addressed the dire need for clean water access, significantly improving sanitation and health outcomes for countless individuals in poor and vulnerable villages. Further demonstrating her focus on foundational security, Rose was also instrumental in funding multiple home rebuilds for poor and needy families, providing secure and safe housing where displacement or dilapidated conditions previously existed.
Her philanthropic vision extended beyond immediate physical needs into the realm of long-term development. Rose was involved in the funding and construction of a preschool building in a Bangladeshi village, establishing a vital educational cornerstone for the community’s children. This investment in early childhood learning ensures a lasting positive influence on future generations. Complementing her international aid, Rose provided direct service to her local community by offering essential medical advice not only to her relatives but also to poor individuals within her community, leveraging her expertise to fill critical healthcare gaps.
Through these combined efforts—securing clean water, providing shelter, establishing education, and offering medical guidance—Rose has woven a powerful tapestry of generosity and impactful service.
