Roscoe's obituary

Roscoe Thomas Gregory Jr., was born December 29, 1970, in Brooklyn, NY, to his parents, Roscoe Thomas Gregory Sr., and Luz Ellena Barrocales. Upon his birth and stay in the hospital nursery, he was returned to his mom and called by the nurse “Man of the nursery” because he did not cry despite all the babies crying around him. From that moment, he was called “Man” and this nickname stuck into his adulthood. During his youth Roscoe enjoyed building things on his own, roller skating, karate, tumbling, swimming, and socializing with just about everyone. He attended August Martin High School and completed his GED in 1989.

Roscoe always had an adventurous spirit and sought to create his own path in life. He started many business ventures and enjoyed meeting people everywhere. He loved dancing, comedy shows, traveling, riding motorcycles, promoting parties, outdoor activities, community volunteerism, competitive kickball, fishing, watching movies and TV. He was also a big “Foodie”. Times most cherished by Roscoe were the moments he spent with his extended family and his children. He was determined to teach his children to be thinkers, creators, and entrepreneurs.

Roscoe was of the Christian faith and believed in marriage as part his life and living to his full potential. He met Nathalie at a Barnes & Noble in 2003, and they were married on March 23, 2007. Together, they moved to the Atlanta, GA area where Roscoe set his mind on having his own business; which was also a result of being part of the “Tag Team” Network Marketing Group that largely contributed to his entrepreneurial mindset and goals. After several attempts at different businesses, Roscoe’s work finally took hold once he opened Scowie Fire Techs, a fire protection service, in January 2021. Roscoe was able to successfully build his clientele and secure contracts to sustain and grow his business.

Roscoe was a dreamer and a giver. He was well liked and loved by many. He will be missed and forever in the hearts of those who knew him best!

In addition to his parents, Roscoe is survived by his wife, Nathalie Gregory; sons, Dejon Gregory and Nasir Gregory; daughters, Roxanne Gregory and Aaliyah Gregory; brother, Warren Jenkins; sisters, Linda Taylor, Twanna James and husband Kindel, and Ciara Simonson and husband Victor; as well as a host of extended family and close friends.
