Beatrice Smith , of Boston, MA , died Friday , July 19th, 2024 at her home with her family at her side. She was born and raised in Mobile, Alabma and moved to New Jersey where she lived in Carteret before residing in Boston in 2000. Mrs. Smith worked as a secretary for Merck and Co. in Rahway for 17 years before her retirement. She was the founder of Rites of Passage in Rahway and remained active for 9 years. 

Beatrice was predeceased by her parents Calvin and Mae ( Cochran) McClendon and her three siblings; Bernard Jackson, Bernette Shaw and Hydia Butler. She is survived by her husband Eddie B. Smith, her four children; Sharon Smith of Rahway, Eddie B. Smith Jr. of Rahway, Craig Smith and his wife Beverly of Sayreville and Stanford R. Smith and his wife Angelica of Rahway and her eight grandchildren; Andre, Jihad, Simone, Brandon, Brianna, Terrel, Isaiah and Gianna. She will also be missed by her three great-grandchildren; Matea , Leo, and Milan. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Friday, July 26, 2024 10:00am at the Old South Church , 645 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02116.
