Rosita's obituary
Rosa "Rosita" Peralta, 88, of Weston, FL, passed away on April 15, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Rosita was the mother of 9 children and took her job of hosting all her family’s celebrations (big and small) very seriously. The beauty, etiquette, love and kindness she brought to our lives will never be forgotten.
Rosita was born on August 20, 1934, to Trinidad & Enrique Carty in Lima, Peru. After graduating from high school, she married Roberto Peralta whom she had met at the young age of 15. They wed on her 21st birthday in 1955. She would say her life’s best accomplishment was ensuring her children, Roberto, Enrique, Roberto Enrique, Mary, Norma Christina, Roberto Antonio, Ricardo, Francisco, and Juan Carlos all had impeccable table manners.
When Rosita had her first child, she knew she wanted to dedicate her life to being a loving, selfless and wonderful mother. Maybe somehow she knew of the large family that was on their way, including 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Rosita excelled at supporting her family through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was following Roberto without complaint to a new country, or helping her children acclimate to a new school and friends, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She was known for her sewing skills she shared with everyone, making expert alterations for the whole family (and their friends!).
Rosita was a passionate host, excellent cook and expert entertainer. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in the heart of her home, her kitchen, practicing a new recipe amongst her extensive cookbook collection. She was always wearing a suit dress with her Virgin Mary gold necklace, greeting unexpected visitors with a set table and spread that would take most people months to plan. We will miss her and her love for starched napkins greatly, but we take solace in the fact that she has been reunited with the love of her life Roberto Peralta with whom she shared 56 years of her life.
She is survived by her children Mary, Norma Christina, Roberto Antonio, Ricardo, Francisco, and Juan Carlos, grandchildren Jorge, Marianne, Nicole, Kristina, Riley, Sawyer, Jordan, Kayla, Luca, Dylan, Juliette, & Aria and great grandchildren Sebastian, Marcelo, Matilda, Lucia & Amelia Rose.
A mass to celebrate the love she brought to our lives will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church 1301 SW 136th Avenue Davie, Florida 33325. Tuesday May 2nd, 2023 at 11:00 AM. After, her family will dress up in their Sunday’s best and sit down to a private dinner with an elaborate tablescape, starched napkins and a showstopper dessert in her honor.
Her heart was as big as her family, and her hospitality knew no bounds. She was a mother to many and a friend to all, and her legacy of love and warmth will never be forgotten.
