I was heartbroken to learn about Rory's passing. Rory and I met in law school and became good friends. He was a very kind, caring person with a great sense of humor and adventure. He also had a soft heart and could be hurt easily but was equally quick to forgive those who hurt him.  He was very empathetic and although he was a really smart guy, I never once saw him try to humiliate anyone as some so often do these days with such a casual air.  I will always feel like he is among us through my wonderful memories of him. A kind, loving man with a wonderful heart.

My deepest sympathies to the Jentz  family and especially to his two girls, Erin and Megan.

"Say not in grief " he is no more" but in thankfulness that he was".

To the Jentz Family, I am so very sorry to hear about Rory's passing. My heart is heavy as I'm sure yours is. Rory was my rock solid friend in college where we met in Longhorn Band. Two friends, just figuring it out long before social media or cell phones. Rory accepted me just the way I was. He had a calm confident manner that put everyone at ease. Rory taught me how to forge ahead even though I didn't have all the answers; showing me that I could figure it out along the way. Simple pleasures of friendships, hanging out at their pool, playing in Longhorn Band, burgers on the grill, and talk about our lives spread out ahead of us. I am choosing to remember Rory as one of the most positive and influential men of my lifetime. God could not have sent me a better friend whom now I hope to meet again when my time comes. He'll be the one putting me at ease once again. God Bless the Jentz family and my best man, Rory.

Dear Jentz family, I am so sorry to hear about Rory passing away. My heart goes out to you all while working through his death. I have faith that he is at peace and we now need to deal with our grief of loss. Keeping your memories close, always helped me in the past. ❤️ Joanne

I have so many fond memories myself, of spending time with Rory and Lori. My sister and I were twins also and we did so much with them. We sure had some fun times, driving around Austin on the weekends and after football games.! We really were good kids though, we just tried to stir up trouble whenever we could.  The pool parties were great also!

Rory you were the best saxophone player, such talent you had. So glad I had you as a friend. I will keep my beautiful memories close to my heart. God bless you and keep you ❤️ Joanne Safely Tata -- fellow sax player

It breaks my heart to be writing this but pray you are in a better place. All the memories of the time we spent together still make me smile ~ we were just kids with no cares in the world…if only it could have always been that way.  Hope you know how much love you take with you. RIP, my friend.
