ROOSEVELT's obituary
ROOSEVELT "SCOTTIE" SCOTT was born March 30, 1945 in the city of Augusta, Georgia ( Richmond County) to Parents Margaret Hunt and John Willie Lewis. He was the youngest of three to their union.
He served 4 years in the US Navy. Stationed at Da Nang Vietnam aboard the USS Wiltsie ( DD-716) Naval Destroyer Battle Ship. He loved cooking and fishing with family and friends. His most enjoyment was fixing anything electrical for others. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad of 30 years as a Licensed Electrician. He served as a Deacon of Pleasant Place Ministries under the Leadership of Bishop Jerry and Pastor Piper Davis.
On Thursday April 13th , 2023 Roosevelt went home to be with the Lord. He's joining his mother Margaret Harkness, his beloved wife Sharon Yvonne Scott, sister Rebecca Minter-Williams and Step-son Maurice Hickerson. Roosevelt will be dearly missed and always loved.
He leaves to mourn his sons, Gerald Anthony Scott, Portland, OR, Vernon Edward Scott (Doris), Decatur, GA, Step-Daughter Roshaun Crooms, Greensboro NC, Sisters Willie Mae Carr, Fairview, OR and Clora Belton (Cornelius), Thomson, GA, eight grand children, two great-grandchildren, several neices and nephews and host of other relatives and dear friends.
