Ronnie's obituary

Ronnie Dion Hanson, 58, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away on January 6, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born on September 22, 1966, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, arriving prematurely at just 3.3 pounds alongside his identical twin brother, Lonnie Dean Hanson.

Ronnie is survived by his mother, Patti Hanson of Xenia; his sisters, Tonya Hanson and Tammy Hanson Blackburn (Josh Blackburn) of Xenia; his daughter, Jessica Hanson (Matthew Back), and grandchildren McKenna Hanson-Back, Josiah Back, and Julianne Back of Fairborn; his estranged daughter, Tiffany Hanson; his wife, Joni Hanson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Lonnie Dean Hanson, in 2007 and his father, Thomas David Hanson, in 2019.

Ronnie will be remembered for his unique personality and the unwavering love he had for his family. He often referred to his daughters and grandchildren as “the apple of his eye,” a testament to the deep affection he held for them. Ronnie was a music lover with a particular fondness for classic rock but enjoyed an eclectic range of genres. Ronnie also enjoyed playing the drums.

As a child, Ronnie shared an inseparable bond with his twin brother Lonnie. Their mother fondly recalls their adventures playing Cowboys and Indians together—though they famously disliked dressing alike. This special connection with his brother remained a cherished part of Ronnie’s life.

As he joins his father and twin brother in the afterlife, Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and countless treasured memories. His family will forever hold these moments close to their hearts.
