Ronald's obituary
Ronald Littleton Travis of Lansing, MI passed away and journeyed to heaven during the sunrise of September 10, 2022. Ron was a Christmas baby, born on December 25, 1941 to John Littleton and Elna Sabina Travis in Dresden, TN.
After a childhood filled with adventure and fun, Ron graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing, MI in 1959. Over the course of his life, Ron pursued a variety of successful careers including raising hunting dogs with his brother Bill, as well as opening and operating the Meijer’s barber shop on Saginaw Avenue in the 1970’s and 80’s. His true calling was real estate, and he found much success in his more than thirty years as an agent, not just in selling homes, but in building relationships.
No one was a stranger to Ron for very long, and he possessed excellent people skills, no more so than when he dialed a wrong number and persuaded the lady who answered, Karen, to go out with him, and that special lady became his wife in 2008.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 14 years, Karen Travis, mother and father-in-law Virginia and Bud Piper, sister-in-law Jennifer Daily, step-daughter Amanda Brown, step-son Pete Brown, granddaughter Aislynn Victoria, sisters Joan Beard and Marilyn Ward, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him very much. Awaiting Ron’s arrival in heaven are his parents, brother William Travis, nephew Matthew Travis, brothers-in-law Gary Beard and Billy Ward, and other cherished family members and friends.
Ron was someone you could count on, a dedicated man who was always ready to lend a hand and have a good conversation with. He will be missed.
Those who would like to honor Ron with a memorial contribution may do so to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA in his name. A memorial is being planned for a later date.
