Ron's obituary
Ronald Loren Toby, born June 18, 1968, to Pamela Strode and Norman Toby—passed away suddenly on August 13, 2013 in Newberg, OR.
Ron married Susana Verzosa Toby at age 31, embracing not only their shared life together but also becoming a devoted stepfather to Susana’s three daughters, Crystal, Ashley, and Chanelle. Together, they later welcomed their daughter, Raquel Toby, who was the light of Ron’s life. Everyone who knew him knew how much he loved being a father — it was his greatest joy.
Ron will be remembered for his caring heart, sense of humor, and friendly spirit. He had a natural way of making people feel welcome and he loved connecting with others. Whenever he saw a neighbor outside, he’d walk over to say hello and have a conversation, never missing a chance to share a laugh or a story.
Ron was a passionate lover of music, especially heavy metal and rock. He could often be found in the garage with the door open, music playing loud, and tools in hand as he worked on projects. Some of his favorite bands included Iron Maiden, Van Halen, and Judas Priest. Inspired by many of his favorite 80s rock artists, he proudly grew out his long hair and wore it with confidence, never embarrassed to show his unique style and personality.
He loved the simple pleasures in life — floating in the pool on summer days, sunbathing, bike riding, taking Toodles to the park, and cracking open a cold beer as his favorite songs played in the background. He also loved taking long road trips, enjoying the open road and the meaningful conversations that came from it.
He was a man of many admirable qualities — hard-working, caring, thoughtful, and free spirited. He loved motorcycles, laughter, and living life to the fullest. Those who knew him will always remember his humorous, positive spirit and the deep love he had for his family.
He is survived by Susana Verzosa, his stepdaughters Crystal, Ashley, and Chanelle, and his beloved daughter Raquel Toby.
Ron’s memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is deeply missed and never forgotten.
