Dear Prof Sultana,
I wake up at 5 am every morning to continue working on my master’s dissertation, before my children wake up and the day begins with preparing for school and work. In these quiet hours, I feel your spirit guiding me on this journey. I carry with me your values, your deep sense of social justice, and your courage to question and challenge the status quo.

In memory of Professor Ronald G. Sultana
I wish to honour the profound intellectual legacy of Professor Ronald Sultana. His critical insights into Mediterranean education continue to guide and inspire my work (https://www.j-ces.com/index.p…) I remain deeply grateful for his scholarship, his vision, and the enduring impact he has left on all of us committed to educational justice in the region. May his legacy continue to illuminate our thinking and practice.

Whenever I pass in front of his office on the Faculty of Education's first floor, I stop and pause, either say a prayer ir simply reflect. The door to his office is like his tombstone. May her rest in power. Mentioned him on radio-campus fm- in an interview on AGORA when I referred to thd way some of us in the Faculty underline the politics of education. I recognised Ronald' s contribution over thd years in this area and reminded listeners of the first anniversary of his passing.

I was fortunate enough to work a lot with Ronald, and learned so much from him. He was such a lovely, warm, modest man, intelligent and wise, and a wonderful friend and colleague: one of the finest people I have had the privilege to know.

Ron was a wonderful teacher who did not just teach a subject but also passed on strong values.

As an IAEVG Board member and it was an honor to serve with him on the Editorial Team of Career Guidance & Social Justice- I express my heartfelt condolences with his family. It was always a pleasure to meet Professor Ronald at various international conferences he will always meet with a warm smile. He was passionate to involve professionals from the south to contribute and valued professionals from all walks of life, a role model of co-existence. His intellectual humility will be greatly missed. He was well respected from across continents. A strong advocate of a socially just society we will greatly miss him, may his soul rest in peace.

I have known Professor Sultana for many years - as a student studying to become a teacher and in my role as a career guidance practitioner. Ronald introduced me to the area of career guidance way back in 2004 - when few people in Malta were informed about this area of specialisation. He opened up many doors for me on the international sphere and even locally. His belief in the sector encouraged a group of practitioners (me included) to set up the Malta Career Guidance Association. He continued to support the work of our association since its inception in 2009 and was always ready with suggestions and feedback when approached. He was always ready to provide training opportunities for our practitioners. I will miss Ronald dearly but through the Association we hope to continue his legacy, that of strengthening the career sector in Malta.

I met Ronald in 2006 and then we spent more time in Malta in 2008, when I met his beautiful family as well. Since then, we have been in touch.
He was generous enough to guide my efforts to professionalize (career) counseling services in Romania - and was a supporter of the Journal of Counseling and the Romanian Counselors Association.
Ronald was so kind to also write a powerful forward to a career counseling book I edited in Portugal.
He was the keynote speaker for an international conference I organized in 2018 in Bucharest - talking about neoliberalism to the public in much need for this type of education. I will attach a pic from that moment.
On Saturday, I organize the annual conference of the Romanian Counselors Association - and this year's event is dedicated to his memory.
My condolences to his family - Ronald, you will be missed.
