Ronald Thomas Shumaker, 65 , of Arlington, TX, went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2021.

Ron was born on July 6, 1955 in Shreveport, LA. Preceded in death by parents, James Lanar Letbetter & Alma Jean Harmon Letbetter, sister, Peggy Ann Shumaker Oliver, ex-wife and loving friend, Irma Jane Shumaker. He is survived by daughters, Melanie McCown, Rhonda Holsen and husband Jim, and Jenny Shumaker. Sisters Brenda Maxwell and husband Terry, and Linda Jacobs, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 great-nieces, 2 great-nephews, uncles, many cousins and many friends.

He worked for Tucker Industries and Schneider trucking company. He enjoyed being a driver/trainer and driving all over the United States. He loved to golf and umpire at baseball games. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

After retiring, Ron spent some of his time at the Porter VFW as a charity bingo caller.

Ron never met a stranger. He referred to everyone by their first name even if he only met them a minute ago. He crossed many paths with many different people. He treated them with respect and as if they were his best friend.

He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.
