Bud's obituary

Ronald Richard Meyer (Bud) was born Feb 13, 1937 in Britton S.D. to Ehmer (Budd) & Mary Meyer. He passed away at the age of 84, on June 9th, 2021 surrounded by the family he loved. From the time he was little he was known as Buddy and continued to go by Bud all his life. Growing up his family lived in Portland OR, Sisters OR & Mt. Shasta CA, before settling in Redding when he was twelve. He was raised in a close-knit family including two brothers and a sister whom he shared many adventures with. He attended Shasta High School and formed many friendships there that lasted a lifetime. Bud met the love of his life, Judy, at Shasta College. They were married for 62 years and together had seven children. He held several jobs before starting in the finance business which he loved and excelled in. He also owned a car lot for several years and always enjoyed finding cars for family and friends. Bud spent 25 years preaching at the Good News Rescue Mission and many years preaching the gospel at River Oaks Retirement Home. He loved people and helping anyone in need. His love for the Lord was evident to all that knew him and he shared that love with anyone he met. Bud was a loyal man and loved his family unconditionally.
Bud is survived by his wife Judy, daughters Cindy Simmons (Mick), Liz McKeown, Allison Engstrom (Arvid), Heidi Bratton, Amy Endecott (Danny) and his sons John & Paul (Jaime). He leaves 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, his brother Jr. Meyer (Evie) , sister Kay Benneche (Ron) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Budd & Mary, his brother Rodney, nephew Ricky Meyer & son in law Jay McKeown.
A funeral service for the family will be held at the N. Cal Veterans Cemetery where he will be buried and a Memorial Service for all will be on Saturday June 26th at 11 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church in Bella Vista.
Donations can be made to the Good News Rescue Mission in Redding.
