GROWING UP IN THE 70'S WITH THE COOLEST PARENTS WE NEVER HAD TO WANT FOR ANYTHING, WE WERE NOT RICH BUT OUR PARENTS MADE SURE WE HAD WHAT WE NEEDED, MY DAD WAS A HARD WORKING MECHANIC AND AS RACE CAR DRIVER, CARS WERE ALWAYS A BIG PART OF OUR LIVES, I REMEMBER SO MANY OF THE CARS WE HAD THROUGHT THE YEARS, PINTO WAGON, PINTO, ELCAMINO 55 CHEVY, SEDAN DELIVERY, CORVETTE, CHEVETTE, SKYHAWK, MY UNCLE HAD A HURST WITH BINGBAGS IN THE BACK, AND OF COURSE THE VEGA. ONE OF MY FAVORITE MEMORIES IS MY DAD TEACHING ME HOW TO DRIVE A STICK SHIFT IN A DUNE BUGGY AT THE CUL-DE-SAC WE LIVED INTHATS JUST THE KIND OF LIFE WE HAD -ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY CARS AND ENGINES, WITH MY DAD AT THE CENTER OF IT ALL..

HE WAS WELL KNOWN BY SO MANY PEOPLE, I CANT COUNT HOW MANY TIMES I WOULD MEET SOMEONE AND WHEN THEY FOUND OUT I WAS RON LESLIE'S KID THEY'D SAY " NO WAY RON LESLIE'S YOUR DAD, THE ONE WITH THE VEGA I JUST SMILE AND SAY THATS MY DAD THEY WERE ALWAYS AMAAZED BY HIM JUST LIKE HIS 4 KIDS.

DIVORCE CHANGES A LOT OF PEOPLE AND ONLY TWO  OF US REMAIN NOW, MY BROTHER RON PASSED IN 2017 AND MY SISTER IN 2024. JUST ME THE OLDEST AND MY SISTER THE BABY OF THE FAMILY. I AM VERY THANKFUL WE HAD OUR DAD FOR AS LONG ASWE DID. HE LIVED AN INCREDIBLE LIFE, WAS ADMIRED BY SO MANY AND WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED.

In the early 1980s, while driving a Mayflower moving truck, he saw an elderly woman struggling at a traffic light. Without hesitation, he jumped out to help and ensured she received the assistance she needed. It turned out she had broken her hip. Thankfully, she recovered and later reached out to the popular TV show That’s Incredible!—a program that recognized everyday heroes. As a token of appreciation, he was awarded a brand-new dishwasher from the show. It was the first dishwasher we ever owned.
