Ronald's obituary

After a life well lived, Ronald Eugene Gilpin, 67, of Columbia, Missouri, was called home to Heaven on December 14, 2024. A devoted and hardworking husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ronald lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to those he cherished.

Born on September 7, 1957, to James Gilpin and Mary Baker, Ronald grew up with strong family values and a passion for hard work. On May 8, 1977, he married the love of his life, Charlene Hall, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and three wonderful children.

Ronald worked as a rock crusher for many years in Chico, Texas, before relocating to Missouri, where he was a valued employee at Loveall RVs in Columbia. He later retired from Shelby’s Tires after 13 years of dedicated service.

After retirement, Ronald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his family, enjoying the outdoors, riding motorcycles, fishing, and birdwatching. His faith in God was steadfast, and his family was his greatest pride.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Charlene; his children Rebecka Brooks (Clayton), Josh Gilpin (Carrie Ann), and James Gilpin (Casey); his siblings Douglas Gilpin (Phyllis), Kollas King (Angie), Chet King, Elaine McCall (Dwayne), Kelly Noland (Gerry), Melissa Southern (Gip), and Eileen Thorndyke (Bob); 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and countless friends and extended family members who loved him dearly.

Ronald’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.

A memorial service for Ronald will be held on Saturday, December 21st, at 2:00 PM at True Life Apostolic, 211 Benton St, Columbia, MO 65203.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ronald's Memorial GoFundMe page at https://gofund.me/62b6975f to assist with expenses.

Rest in peace, Ronald—you were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
