RONALD's obituary

Ronald Charles DiOrio Sr. (75) a veteran of the Vietnam War and resident of Venice, Florida (formerly of Paterson and Atlantic City, New Jersey) passed away on Friday morning June 17, 2022.

Ronnie, as he was known by many, was born on May 29, 1947. He was a Lance Corporal and Crew Chief on the amphibious Am-Trac Rig with the United States Marine Corps.

Ronald is survived by his oldest daughter, Lori Hink, and her husband Scott, along with (2) grandchildren Dylan and Riley Highfield of Venice, Florida; his two younger children Ronald DiOrio Jr. and Alexis DiOrio of Orlando, Florida and Sarasota, Florida respectively. Also, by his older brother Edward DiOrio along with his wife Carolyn of Newport Beach, California and younger brother Joel DiOrio of Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Grace Di Orio of Clifton, New Jersey.

Ron retired to Florida years ago and continued to work part-time to keep himself busy. He also volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity due to his vast knowledge of home construction projects. He loved gardening, growing vegetables, fishing and boating and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Ronnie will be laid to rest at the honorable Sarasota National Cemetery for Veterans with a celebration of life to follow later in July.

In lieu of flowers please donate, in his name, to our local chapter of Habitat for Humanity South Sarasota County                    EIN# 65-0326534.
