Ronald's obituary
Ronnie’s work and career legacy was being Shop Steward of the Teamsters Union Local 560 for the workers of a Nabisco warehouse in Edison, NJ. He took fabulous care of many employees and made sure they were treated fairly, were compensated appropriately, and maintained job security for their own families.
Ronnie loved baseball and football. He was a stand-pat New York Mets fan since their inception into Major League Baseball in 1962. Ronnie’s idol was Mets left fielder Tommy Agee who helped the Mets to their first World Series victory in 1969. Ronnie was a Cowboys fan in his younger years, but later rooted avidly for the New York Giants. He loved telling everyone details of each of their remarkable Super Bowl victories and emphasizing the talents of Lawrence Taylor, even recently, with videos of him on Youtube.
His love of baseball was a gift he passed on to his boys Sean and Brian from the first day each used a baseball glove to the day they each hit the ball for the first time. He coached his sons directly in certain years, but even when he wasn’t the coach, he would find his way on to the practice field hitting ground balls, fly balls, or throw batting practice.
Ronnie was also extremely handy and mechanically inclined, and on countless situations he repaired cars, household appliances, and desktop computers; saving his family and friends thousands of dollars in his lifetime.
Ronnie had an everlasting love of animals. His household always had a dog, and among the family members he left behind was a beautiful Border Collie named Bella. He trained horses for harness racing, and some of the horses he has trained were victorious on race tracks such as Meadowlands Race Track, Freehold Race Track, Yonkers, etc. The two horses he owned before he passed were Rock and Tapper.
Family comes first was always Ronnie’s philosophy. He would always remind his children that they had to stick together because when difficulties emerged in life, you need to be there for each other. He loved to rock his newborn grandchildren to sleep, and he often helped with feeding them and changing them when an extra hand was needed. If it didn’t involve family, and Ronnie thought it was too petty to think about,
Ronnie would say, “Don’t let it bother ya’. Forget about it!”
Ronnie loved his mother and his father very much. Although leaving this world has saddened the living friends and family he has left behind, they are all rejoiced in the notion that he can now join hands with his mother Mary and his father Salvatore as they show him around Heaven and help him joyfully enjoy peace in the afterlife.
