Ronald's obituary

Ronald Gene Cobb Sr., known to most as Ronnie, passed away on October 13, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 67 years old. Born on April 27, 1958, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Ronnie carried his hometown spirit with him everywhere he went.

A proud graduate of Hackensack High School’s Class of 1976, Ronnie was a three-sport athlete — basketball, football, and tennis — and the youngest of three brothers in a close-knit family. He went on to build a long and successful career in technology while keeping his love for the outdoors close at hand. Whether on the court, behind a grill, or around a table with family, Ronnie had a way of turning ordinary moments into lasting memories.

He was an active member of both James Varick Memorial AME Zion Church and Trinity Baptist Church, where his calm strength and steady presence spoke louder than words. Coaching youth basketball and football through the Hackensack Recreation Center was one of his greatest joys. Ronnie had a gift for seeing potential in people, driving them to see it too.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnson and Lottie Cobb, and his brothers Eddie and Daryl Cobb. Ronnie is survived by his four sons: Corey, Ronald, Ryan, and Brandon, and their twelve children.

Those who knew Ronnie knew a man who was rock steady, worked hard, and laughed loudly. He lived with a kind of quiet conviction. Rooted in faith, driven by family, and always tuned toward the good in people. His impact reached many others around him, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and an unwavering zeal for life.

A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Cyprian Episcopal Church, 269 1st Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601, with a reception to follow at the same location.
