Ron retired from Armco in 1992 after working as a Senior Electrician Technician for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was quite the athlete in his day, playing for the Air Force’s basketball and baseball teams and Armco’s softball teams. He coached his kids in sports and loved playing ball with the grandkids and teaching them to swim in his pool. He loved his family with all of his heart but his wife was the love of his life, meeting in high school at the Chautauqua Skating Rink as he showed off. They married in 1955, spent four years at Lockport Air Force Base before settling down in Carlisle for the remainder of their life together.
Ron generously donated his body for science to Wright State University, just as his son Scott did. Services will be at 2 pm, Saturday, February 6th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Franklin, Ohio. Family will be at the church at 1 pm for those that want to pay their respects and not stay for the service. Due to COVID, we ask that you please wear a mask and social distance to keep everyone safe. We understand if you cannot attend.
To share a memory you have of Ron, posting it on Sue’s Facebook page would be greatly appreciated.
