Ronald's obituary

Ronald Anthony Williams, 70, of Brewster, MA, passed away on June 26, 2025. Born in Augusta, Georgia, Ron attended Glenn Hills High School and went on to graduate from Duke University, where he studied Zoology and Music Performance and played on the university's basketball team. He later pursued advanced studies at the New England Conservatory of Music and Wesleyan University.

Ron was a beloved member of the Cape Cod music community. A gifted fingerstyle jazz guitarist and vocalist, he shared his passion for music through years of performing and teaching voice and music lessons. His gentle spirit, deep musical talent, and commitment to nurturing others left a lasting impact on countless students and listeners.

In addition to his musical career, Ron worked for many years with adults with disabilities. His kindness, patience, and unwavering belief in the potential of every individual helped many to grow both personally and musically.

Ron had a wide range of interests, including fishing, computer programming, electronic gadgets of all sorts, and both watching and playing sports.

He is survived by his two musically gifted children, Madison Mae Williams of Atascadero, CA and James Williams of Worcester, MA; his mother, Mariam Golphin of Augusta, GA; and his sisters, Mirian Barnwell and Yalanda Golphin, of Atlanta, GA. He is also remembered fondly by many friends on Cape Cod, as well as extended family members in the Augusta and Atlanta areas.

Memorial donations may be made to any organization that supports music education for children or adults.
