Ron, I know will be missed by everyone, very sad for everyone who knew the great man, good company and a gentleman. For me Ron was a friend and someone who helped me in the Industry both to start a new venture and gave great advice which I will be forever grateful.  My thoughts and best wishes are to his family and colleagues, Champions loss is shared by me and my colleagues at Icon. Ron's advice and trust will remain with me.

I only knew Ron through our mutual business in the international global mobility. And as such , had the pleasure of meeting him frequently at our yearly networking events.  A well respected and well liked professional who was able to mix business and personal interest  in any conversation. A trait I very much admired. I also visited him once at his Pittsburg office where he showed himself the perfect host. My symphaties goes out to his family and loved ones.

We opened our company in May 1997.  The first call I received at that exciting time was from Ron Smith sincerely wishing me much success even as a competitor.  What a gentleman.  I will surely miss him and send condolences to the family.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of one of the most influential people in the industry. My sincere condolences to the family, my thoughts are with you.
I am deeply shocked to hear Ron has left us. Unbelievable, far too young. Ron has always been a gentleman, friendly, helpful . I am very happy I have met him. My condolences to his family and the Champion Team.

Shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news of Ron's sudden passing.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone at Champion at this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with  Ron via the early years of the Champion and Sterling close working relationship, from the time when the two Companies started from humble beginnings on the opposite  sides of the pond and grew very quickly to be amongst the best in the business.  Ron's passion for Champion, his colleagues and the industry was immense. His enthusiasm, integrity, leadership, thoughtfulness and sense of humour was infectious and I regarded him as a friend and mentor.  Ron will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known him.

Rest in peace Ron.

My sincerest condolences to Ron's family and Champion team.  Can Ron rest in peace.

I am absolutely devastated for Carol, Brenda, your extended family at Champion and vast family in our industry. Your were an inspiration to me me for nearly 25 years. Honest, loyal, a true gentleman and a true friend. You showed me nothing but kindness and friendship and I will miss you sincerely. Much loved by me and so many others. I shed tears when I heard of your shock passing and I will share a glass with you on Saturday though so unfortunately from 6500 kms away. Rest in peace Ron and God bless.

On behalf of all employees of hasenkamp Relocation in Europe, I express my great regret and our deepest sympathy! Ron was one of the most honest, open and kind people I had the privilege to meet. A role model for everyone in the moving industry. I remember our first meeting in 2018 during the ERC in Seattle very well! We didn't know each other at all before and he immediately approached me in an open and friendly manner.

I (we) will miss him! Markus Luthe (Group Managing Director)

We the INSA family present our condolences and sorrow to Ron's family and Champion team for the passing away of a wonderful human being , good friend and great profesional. Ron is now in the glory and everlasting light.
On behalf of Colmenares family and Portan, Colombia our most sincere condolences to his family and colleagues at Champion.  May he rest in peace

I was totally stunned to hear this news a few minutes ago.I have been a friend and business partner of Ron's for more than 30 years, throughout which he has only shown me kindness.Initially when i founded Sterling In London he had justfounded Champion and we became kindred spirits. He had very little if anything to gain from this at the time, but i think trusted me(and vice versa) and always was a man of his words,he and everyone at Champion stuck with us through thick and thin.We remained friends after i left the industry in 2005 and stayed in close contact upto his untimely death.

Only a few months ago he was calling me to maje sure i was ok  after I had been hospitalised with covid...i cant believe that he is gone.

I always thought Ron was indestructable... i was wrong on that, but he was truly a giant...... and  a champion of our industry

Perhaps more importantly he was my friend, and will be sadly missed .

My heartfelt condolences to Carol and Brenda at this sad time

Sincerely

Peter Carter

We are deeply saddened by this shocking news and offer our heartfelt condolences to his wife, daughter and family as well as all the staff at Champion.    We can definitely say Ron was a true champion as a person.  I had the opportunity to play golf with Ron at several industry events and he was always very friendly and fun to be with.   You would never know he was a competitor the way he greeted and treated us.   A real gentleman and wonderful individual.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  May he Rest In Peace.   Bob & Janet and the Crown team.

Not you dear Ron, why. You are the guy we wanna sit next to, always. There was no one like you. My heartfelt condolences to your family, friends and Champions.
