Ron's obituary

On May 3rd 2025, Ron Stadler, age 85, passed away peacefully in Ridgecrest California. Born in Glendale, CA on July 16, 1940 to Philip Stadler and Evelyn Mae Baldwin. He was the middle child between his older brother Eddie and his little sister Shirley.

Ron joined the Navy after graduating from Glendale High school in 1958, where his thirst for adventure peaked, relishing the opportunity to jump out of airplanes. As a willful enlisted Seaman, he earned himself an honorable discharge when dispositions clashed.

Ron briefly attended Cal Poly, but with college lacking the appeal his free spirit desired, Ron opted for the road less traveled. He continued to march by the beat of his own drum his whole life.

A truck driver in the mid 1970’s, Ron pulled his 18-wheeler over to pick up Karen, a beautiful wayward hitchhiker, 17 years his junior, thumbing her way from Michigan to California. They moved to Las Vegas, were married for 10 years, and had three girls. Ron’s witty, playful mix of stern charm was beloved by many, but none so much as his three daughters, Crystal, Heather and Sarah.

Steadfast with unconditional love, he supported their passions and pursuits relentlessly. His strength of character an immeasurable source of guidance and encouragement.

Ron’s skills and talents ranged widely over the course of his life. From a ranch hand to a restaurant chef, an electrical contractor to a car salesman to a business investment consultant.

A Californian through and through he settled in Ridgecrest in 2002. A brilliant man in his 60’s, undeterred by age or formalities, Ron taught himself the intricacies of the digital technology era. He built a thriving custom computer repair business, Barnyard Pooters, serving the community of Ridgecrest with all their computer needs for over 20 years.

In his free time, Ron could be found with his fishing pole in the nearest creek. Watching Old Western movies. Or riding his Triumph Motorcycle down long stretches of a Mojave Desert highway.

Old school, he always answered the phone. Ready to stop what he was doing to make you feel relevant. Offering better advice than you could find anywhere else. His witty humor sure to leave you feeling lighthearted, taking yourself much less seriously than before.

He was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. He loved his family and was cherished by those who knew him.

He is survived by his 3 daughters: Crystal (Lee), Heather (Fabian) and Sarah (Rodney). Grandchildren: Jaxon, Gavin, Charlote, Osiris. Brother Ed and Sister-in-Law Joanna. Uncle to Deanna, Gloria, Mike, Shelly, Edie, Becky, Tina.

Preceded by parents Philip and Evelyn Stadler, Sister Shirley and Myron Schlaegel, Nephew Mike Schlaegel, Stepfather Arthur Bard

Service will be held at a later date.
