Ronald Lee Franklin, 85, of Anthem, AZ, passed away on June 7, 2023 of Congestive Heart Failure.

Ron was born on October 9, 1937 to Genelle & John Franklin in Peoria, IL. 

After graduating from East Peoria High School in 1956, he landed his first job at Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL in 1957 where he worked 42 years until he retired in 1999.

In 1957, Ron met Marilyn at a high school party and they got married in 1960 and celebrated 62 years in October.

Ron and Marilyn had three children: Darin, Craig, and Curt; 9 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was a dedicated father and husband.  He actively participated in his son's activities and his knowledge and passion for baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals were passed on to all three.  

After retiring in 1999, Ron stayed busy umpiring softball and delivering new cars between dealers.  They relocated to Anthem, AZ in 2012 and enjoyed the AZ summers.  He attended Desert View Bible Church.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, John and Genelle and his brother, Ken.  He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his brother, Gerry; his children; his grandchildren and step grandchildren; and his great grandson.

A celebration of life will take place at a future date in the Phoenix area.
