Ron's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Ron DeLaunay on June 16, 2024. Born on August 28, 1957, Ron lived a life full of laughter, camaraderie, and unyielding devotion to his loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindie DeLaunay, his doting mother, Aloma Crayton, his supportive sister, Alicia Ford, and his loyal brother, Clark Hagan. Each of them brought joy and love into his life and have cherished memories they will forever hold in their hearts.

Ron had a taste for the finer things in life, his preferred sips being a smooth Bourbon. In his spare time, he delighted in watching old western TV shows and was a passionate spectator of dirt bike racing. He found his joy in the simplest of activities, from hanging out with his friends, engaging in spirited conversations with fellow truck drivers, to four-wheeling out towards Elbe, WA. His favorite local spots reflected his appreciation for good food and good company, with The San Pan, Emperor’s Palace, and The Cedar being his regular haunts.

He was a man full of life, a soul brimming with humor, wit, and warmth. His caring nature meant he was always there for a friend in need. He taught those around him valuable lessons about loyalty and friendship, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness.

Ron’s professional life was marked by noteworthy accomplishments. He was not only a remarkable commercial truck driver but also a respected business owner, running his own trucking company for many years. Despite his significant success, he remained humble and down-to-earth, attributes that endeared him to all. Please join us for a memorial and celebration of life service on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, WA. Reception to be held at Emperor’s Palace in Lacey immediately following services.

The memory of his infectious laughter will forever echo in our hearts. His wit and charm will be sorely missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his life, a life fully lived with love, laughter, and limitless friendship. His legacy will forever be imprinted in our hearts and minds.
