1926-2019
Rolando Bartolome Vega, age 93 passed away November 22, 2019. Born August 24, 1926 in Camajuni Cuba, the son of Francisco Vega and Maria San Blas. Rolando and his wife of 62 years Adela Pelaez fled Communist Cuba in 1966 to the United States and resided in Kansas City Missouri, where he had two older brothers named Frank and Mario. He went to work as a mechanical designer for Hallmark’s “pop- up cards”. After a couple of years, they moved to Los Angeles California with their two children Roxana and Rolando Jr., where they later welcomed their third and youngest daughter Marlene, five grandkids, and three great grand kids. Rolando had a passion for the arts. He was a classical as well as a modern painter, loved to read and write poetry, was always working on inventions, and loved music. Up until 2018 he was part of a choir where he sang and played the bongos. Rolando Vega will be missed by his family, and friends.
