Roger's obituary

A strong fighter Roger James Meikle passed away on December 08, 2021, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He had his family by his side the whole time in the hospital and when he passed.  He was 81 years old at this time.

On January 26, 1940, Roger was born to William W. Meikle and Rose A. Mack in Seattle, Washington. Roger grew up in Pasco, Washington area. In August of 1958 while in Hawaii he received his G.E.D through the U.S. Armed Forces Institute. Roger enlisted in the Navy USN in 1958, where he was stationed in Long Beach, California. He served until he was Honorable Discharged, January of 1964.

After the service, he had traveled to Richland, Washington, where he lived for a few years. In this time Roger was in a relationship that resulted in a huge blessing for Roger. He was blessed with two daughters: Tina Lanning in 1965 and Barbara Randa in 1966.  Years later Roger set out to travel again and in 1978 he had moved to Seattle, Washington where there he met his still to this day wife and best friend (November celebrated 43 years of marriage) Nicola A. About a year later they were both blessed with two more children. RJ Meikle in October of 1979, and Jasmine Meikle in December of 1980. His four children over the years have blessed him even more with eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Within this time, Roger was living in Spokane, Washington, working with Kruger Sheet Metal for 20+ years as a roofer. He then retiring early. In the late 1980's Roger had finally set out to make his dream a reality and started building this first drag bike to later start racing. If he had spare time and if you couldn't find him lying on the couch or working in the yard, He would be in the garage working on his bike or he would be at the track racing. Roger also loved to fish and anything that had to do with the yard, from mowing, watering the lawn, to building new decorations to planting flowers. He was so passionate about everything he did!

In September of 2006, Roger along with his wife decided to make a huge move to Tahlequah, Oklahoma where he continued to enjoy living his life with his wife and children.

Left to honor and keep Roger's memory alive is his wife of 43 years Nicola A. Meikle; Son RJ Meikle; Daughters; Jasmine Meikle and Barbara Randa; Eleven grandchildren; Tristan and Lakota Meikle, Braylen Meikle, Jacquelyn Meikle, Gabe Hebert, Faith DeHamer, Jeffrey Andreasen, Cammie, Dirk, and Daniele Lanning, and Jennie Randa; Five great-grandchildren; Ayden Jace Ferguson, Dorothy Rae, Griffin, and Bridger Andreasen; Brother; William (Bill) Meikle, Half-sister; Gina Votaw, Half-brothers; Frankie and Ricky Tosto and extended family.
