Roger's obituary
Roger DuPont, 73, of Franklin, sadly passed away from a sudden heart attack after a bout of fast progressing dementia on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023.
Born in Milwaukee in 1949, he enjoyed living in the Milwaukee area before ultimately needing to be moved to a memory care facility in the Madison area earlier this year.
Sports star and graduate of Juneau High School, Roger was an athlete and avid sports fan. He enjoyed softball, golf and coaching, but enjoyed sports as a spectator of the Bucks, Brewers, Packers and Badgers until the end.
A long-time employee of General Motors, Roger was able to work in a field of another passion of his, cars. After 32 years of service Roger had to retire in 2006 and eventually spent his final working years at Mannheim Auto Auction, driving every kind of car he could have ever dreamed of.
Loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his daughters Kari Back of Oak Harbor, WA, Michelle Homp (Joe) of Verona, WI and Jacki Schommer (Kyle) of Dodgeville, WI; as well as his grandchildren Raechel Back, Eli Back and Emma Homp.
A memorial service will be held at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 9501 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 9th, at 12 p.m.
