Rod was a great mentor and a good friend. He was a leader that was the first one to jump in the trenches with you. I witnessed this over and over in our time working together.
He was a mentor that share every bit of knowledge he had to share but was also the first to call you out on things that needed to be called out with his infamous "listen here shipmate."
And he was the friend truly cared with his heart. Always checking up on you professionally and personally; his provided a great example in my life of the type of character I would want to emulate.
I pray to see him one day again in God's kingdom by the grace of our Lord, Jesus.

I met Rod for the first time face to face in 2009. Little did we know we served on the Truman together years earlier. From that point forward he was a friend, confidant, and mentor. Over the years Rod did not just teach me how to be a better engineer and manager, but more importantly a better man. I can not think of another person who loved his family more than Rod. He gave me hope that there is good in the world. I remember the day he told me Alexandra was pregnant and then later seeing the joy on his face when Ethan was born. I will forever be grateful to Rod, and thank you Kelley for sharing him.
