Robin's obituary

On Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, Robin (“Gover”) Sessoms departed this Earth surrounded by loved ones.

Originally from Ludlow, Mass., Robin exercised her illustrious free spirit and moved from her hometown down to North Carolina, where she lived out the majority of her life.

Never forgetting home and family, though, she visited Ludlow often and spread her warmth to all whom she crossed paths with.

Family and friends alike never escaped a visit from Robin without experiencing the wonderful cackle of laughter that emanated from her kind soul. There was always an explorative meal to be had, a raucous game to be played, a newfound plant to beautify many-a-garden, or a reveled memory of the past to be brought back to life.

She adored the opportunity to browse through crafts and clothes alike at a local boutique or thrift store; there was never a missed opportunity of shopping when she was around.

Between her ability to spontaneously sing about anything and dance like no one was watching, it was clear that she never lost touch with her inner child, and even deeper, her inner artist.

To keep busy, she could be found doing a litany of activities, as she loved to keep her mind occupied.

As stated above-and then some-cooking, reading, watching a good sappy movie, gardening, and decorating were just some of her most beloved pursuits of passion. She also endeavored in biking and marathons.

In addition to her passions of life, she also was a dedicated nurse; serving multiple sectors of the field from cardiology to dialysis.

Solidified by her upbringing, she always performed her tasks diligently and with a grand sense of respect. She was a treasured coworker. She was an incredible sibling. She was, in all, a wonderful person. She will be greatheartedly missed.

She leaves behind her husband Sam Sessoms of Fayetteville, N.C., and her beloved Daughter Emily and Wife Carissa Richardson of Durham, N.C.

Additionally, she is survived by her Mother, Miriam Gover, of Ludlow; Sister Diane (“Gover”) Burke and partner Steven Methot of Enosburg Falls, Vt.; Brother Murel Gover of Ludlow; a cherished Sister-In-Law, Kimberly Gover, of Ludlow; Niece Katelyn Gover and Nephews Matthew and Nash Gover of Ludlow, as well as aunts and many cousins.

Services will be Friday, October 24th with visiting hours between 11:00AM-12:30PM at Ludlow Funeral Home. A Celebration Of Life starts at 12:30, followed with a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent in her name to a local pet shelter, as she was a dedicated animal lover.

Robin Sessoms–A woman of Science, Art, Love, and Family. You will be missed, forever and a day.
