Robin Hanson, cherished mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on September 20, 1954, in Norfolk, Virginia, and passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hanson, just last year in June 2024, her mother Mary Essex, and her brother Alan Bates.

She is survived by her beloved son, Jesse Hanson, his wife Ashley; her grandchildren, Ezekiel, Izabella, and Ezra; her sisters, Victoria (Steve) Lewis, Dawn (Bill) Brown, and Wendy (Jerry) Morris; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A devoted member of her church, Robin found joy in teaching children’s Bible school and sharing her faith with others. She loved gardening and spent most of her summers outdoors “cleaning out the woods,” as Ashley fondly recalls. She also treasured camping trips in the desert. Some of her happiest moments were special trips with her grandchildren alongside her beloved husband Dave, memories her family will forever cherish.

Robin had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and remembered. Her warmth, guidance, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later time. Flowers or donations can be sent to the family, or in lieu, donations may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America (curesarcoma.org) in her name.
