Roberta (Bart)'s obituary
Mrs. Roberta (Bart) Ehrenberg passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, in Wellington, FL. She was 79 years old.
Bart was full of life. Known for her generosity of spirit, creativity and kindness, Bart was always the brightest light in the room. She was beyond talented and always up for adventure. Born in 1946 to Carlita and Earl Rasmussen, in Roseland, New Jersey, she was the oldest of three children. Upon graduation, she attended nursing school at Monmouth University School of Nursing, and worked with Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. It was here that she met and eventually married Frank Ehrenberg in 1969 and eventually settled in Ocean Township.
Even when she stopped being a nurse, Bart was always the nurse, taking care of many relatives and friends in their time of need. Even in retirement, Bart joined the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) serving as a volunteer and teacher. Bart was always ready for any disaster and prepared to save any living thing in need of saving. A bat, a bumble bee, a gecko, a neighbor, a friend of a friend's neighbor, she was pure gold.
In addition to being a nurse, she was a master photographer. She was a successful business owner of Roberta Ehrenberg Photography and President of the New Jersey Association of Professional Photographers and a member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners. She was also a talented seamstress, and an avid bead and glass maker. She created extraordinary jewelry, bowls and chimes which she gifted to all of her adoring fans. She was a true artist. She was also an amazing cook! Bart always had an open door for whomever needed a seat at the table.
Bart loved her family. She had two children with her husband, Frank. Her first son, Michael, sadly passed away in 1989. Her second son, Stephen, and his wife, Autumn, had three girls, Margo, Elsie and Thea, who were Bart's pride and joy. They spent many summers at the lake and holiday's being spoiled by Bart's adorable, beaded jewelry, handmade Halloween costumes, denim jackets and SO many skirts! She taught them how to make necklaces and bracelets, how to work with glass, and even how to sew. They also bonded over their shared love of animals, especially dogs.
Bart was cherished by all for her charm and thoughtfulness. Good people have good friends, and Bart had the best. She had her New Jersey "tea group" friends, nursing school pals, NJ friends, book club friends, CERT friends and "glass making" friends, to include Sandy Hamel who she adored. All who knew Bart, knew her greatest and most treasured friendship was shared with Anne Yagoda.
Roberta is survived by her loving husband Frank Ehrenberg, her son, Stephen, daughter-in-law, Autumn Terrill, and granddaughters, Margo, Elsie and Thea Ehrenberg. She is further survived by her brother, Eric Rasmussen, his wife, Cathy, and their children Jessica Dawson, David Rasmussen and their families. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol Rasmussen.
