Bob's obituary

Robert (Bob) Ray Whiteside, 71, of Allison, Iowa, passed away on April 20, 2025, in Waterloo. Born on December 21, 1953, in Waverly, Iowa, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to his work, service to his community, and love for his family.

Bob devoted 38 years of his career as a welder at Terex, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment. Beyond his professional life, he served as a volunteer fireman, reflecting his willingness to help others and contribute to the safety and well-being of those around him.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janice (Jan) of Allison; children Chris (Stacie) of Wells, Minnesota; Sarah (Jeremy Lane) of Madrid; and Jennifer Payne of Charles City. He also leaves behind his mother, Ruthella of Janesville; siblings Luverne (Sherry) of Shell Rock, Deb Sorge (Richard White) of Janesville, and Sandra Johnson (Aaron) of Janesville. Bob was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond James (Jim) Whiteside, and brother Bruce Whiteside.

Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and spending quiet hours by the water. He enjoyed riding his bike through the countryside and was an avid NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Wilder Park, located at 22301 Highway 3 in Allison, Iowa.

May Bob’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
