Robert's obituary

Robert "Bob" Andrew

September 30, 1948 – March 5, 2025

Robert Wayne Andrew, 76, of Bixby, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025.

Born in Lafayette, Indiana, he grew up in Hobart, Indiana, and graduated from Hobart High in 1966. Bob lived a full, adventurous life. Nicknamed "Brahma Bull" in his younger years for his powerful neighborhood football runs and "Buffalo Bob" later on for his spirit of adventure in the western wilderness. A U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, US Steel worker and skilled electrician, Robert loved building things, fishing, gold panning, prospecting, metal detecting, and exploring the West—often turning off the pavement in his Chevy Blazer while saying, “We’ll make our own road.” He was a family man who gave his children a wonderful childhood and always made Chrismas morning extra special. He enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Later in life Bob loved his casino visits and bantering with the waitresses and making them laugh. He always had a great sense of humor until the very end, he adored his family and spent his final months having the time of his life.

Robert was preceded in death by his Mother Marianne Andrew (Rommel) and his Father Paul Andrew, sister Beth Andrew (Smith) and brothers Stephen, Bradley and Bruce Andrew.

Robert is survived by sons Eric Andrew of Bixby, OK and Robert “Robbie” Andrew of Las Vegas, NV, brother Dennis Andrew of Michigan City, IN and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

It was Robert's wishes to not have a memorial service so please honor his life in any way you would like.
