Bob's obituary

Robert Leroy Walker (Bob) went home to Jesus on January 01, 2021 at age 76.

Bob was born to John Robert Walker and Pansy Maxine Harvey on September 04, 1944 in Lander, WY. Growing up in Wyoming, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.

Bob met his wife, Cheryl Ann Buster in 1967 in Hillsboro, OR. They married November 16, 1967 and went on to have 2 children, Kevin Walker and Kurt Walker. Bob lived with his family on the Oregon coast most of his adult life, where he loved to walk on the beach, looking for treasures. He had a varied professional life, from working as an engineman in the US Navy, as a cartographer for Lincoln County, Oregon, and as a long haul truck driver, having driven over 3 million miles. After retirement, he and Cheryl moved to Chugwater, Wyoming.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Bob also loved camping and the outdoors. He volunteered as campground host for several campgrounds. He particularly enjoyed meeting people in the campgrounds, and introducing them to the wonders of camping. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.

Bob joins his parents Robert and Maxine and his brother Charlee Walker in Heaven. He is survived by his wife Cheryl, sons Kevin and Kurt, grandchildren Kayla, Renae, Noah, Michele, Alaric, Erica, Haddassah, Emma, Kieran, Levi, Joshua, Jacob, Malachi, Micah, Elijah; and great grandchildren Kennedy, Aaden, Carter, and Greyson.

The following scripture was recently pointed out to Bob, and it resonated with him, not knowing what the future held.

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (The Message Bible)
