Bob's obituary
Robert Dwight (Bob) Wagar, 82, of Naples, Florida, passed away from stage 4 metastatic Leiomyosarcoma on October 25, 2023 in Naples, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at First Naples Church (https://firstnaples.org) 3000 Orange Blossom Drive, Naples, Florida 34109, on November 11 at 11:00 AM. A grave-side service will occur on December 8, 2023 at 10:45 AM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Elmer and Helen Wagar (Besst) on May 11, 1941. He attended Westlake High School and graduated in 1959. He then attended Fenn College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology. He went on to earn his medical degree from Ohio State University. Bob served in the Air Force (1970-1975) in Vietnam for one year and in Germany four years. He selflessly provided the most committed and compassionate care to each of his patients, thereby earning their respect and trust, and he was recognized many times over by the medical communities in which he served for his model care and ethics. But he didn’t take himself too seriously: Bob had a witty sense of humor, always correcting the improper grammar on TV and of his family members, and his practical jokes were epic! He loved his family with his whole heart!
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Robin Wagar (Brachvogel), Naples, Florida; his children, Heidi Sellards (Mark), Bedford, Ohio, Amy Wagar Cinch (Stephen), Penfield, Ohio, Korrin Wagar, Naples, Florida, Ryan Martin-Wagar (Caitlin), Missoula, Montana; his brother, Ronald Wagar (Cheryl), Birmingham, Alabama; his sister, Sara Wagar (Amie), Albion, Indiana; his grandchildren Joseph Sellards, Malachi Sellards, Skylar Cinch, Devin Cinch, and Beatrice Cinch; and many others.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
