I got more than 100 hugs from Bob over the years. He always had a smile, hug, and a question about life. Anytime he was in the room visitors to Brush Arbor Church felt loved and welcome. He will be missed.
Bob would always, in his quiet way, come up to me and ask how I was doing or what was happening. I remember spending many times in their home with my cousins and other family times. Remember his many accomplishments and homes he built and moved into. I remember grandma Thomas asking Betty "why she was always moving" and Betty responded " Mom I always get something better." Sorry he is gone and prayers for the family. Cherish the memories.
Of course, I remember Bob as Tweety’s dad.  But my father, Frank Summers, remembers Bob as a classmate & good friend during their years growing up together in Huntsville.  When we talked about his memories of Bob, my dad said, “I could not have asked for a better friend than Bob Vanderbeck during our young years as friends.”  That really said it all.  May Bob rest in peace & may all the good memories be a comfort to those who loved him.
